Corporate Social Responsibility
Lorne Laboratories Ltd takes its responsibilities as an employer, a supplier and a customer very seriously. Lorne is committed to the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility and believes that its activities should not have a detrimental effect on the environment, its employees, consumers, suppliers and any other stakeholders.
Reducing the Carbon Footprint
Lorne has adopted a range of measures to reduce its carbon footprint. In recent years, it has used international exhibitions as an opportunity to meet with its suppliers and distributors. This has reduced the air miles travelled by company representatives. The company also seeks to procure supplies that will further reduce its carbon footprint. This includes the introduction of plastic (PET) vials, which have a lower carbon footprint to produce and, being lighter, have a lower carbon footprint to distribute. They are also easier to recycle and dispose of, compared to the glass alternative.
Recycling
Lorne is fully committed to recycling as much of the materials it uses. Whether it is in the office environment or in the manufacturing facility, recycling of paper and packing materials is a priority.
A Member of the Community
Lorne is a member of the local community as well as the global community. It regularly supports local initiatives and charities as part of its social responsibility obligations. In recent years, the company has featured its fund-raising teddy bear at UK exhibitions, raising money for charities such as Children with Cancer.
